How can I pay for an e-ticket?

Only with the bank cards PC "Mir", Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard or Maestro. There are no other methods of payment.

The security of the payment procedure is ensured by the use of SSL traffic encryption.

The time allocated to make a decision on an order payment and enter the bank card details is 12 minutes. If this time is exceeded, the order is cancelled.

Money is deducted from the card, but the order has not been booked. What should I do?

First of all go to the section "My orders" and make sure that the order has in fact not gone through.

If this is the case, we recommend that you order once again. Blocked funds for an incomplete order will be returned to your card within 24 hours.

In the event of disputes regarding the deduction of funds when paying for electronic tickets, it is necessary to approach the bank which issued your card (the telephone number is on the reverse side of your card). Can I book a ticket online and pay later?

No. On the website of Russian Railways, only electronic tickets are issued with simultaneous payment.

Does the ticket price on the site differ from the fare at the ticket office?

No! On the website of Russian Railways you can buy tickets at the same price as at the ticket offices, without any extra charges and fees.

How is VAT collected on the transportation of passengers?

VAT is collected at a rate of 0 percent in accordance with Federal Law No. 401-FZ "On Amendments to Parts One and Two of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation and Other Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation" passed on 30 November 2016 and as amended in Article 164 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, which regulate services for the transportation of passengers and luggage by public rail transport on domestic Russian rail services.

Based on the specified norm, the VAT rate of 0 percent is applied only to the passenger transportation service (i.e., for the ticket and reserved seat components which comprise the ticket cost), while all additional fees, including the cost of services (the use of bedding and meals) are subject to VAT at a rate of 20 percent.

On tickets issued for the carriage of passengers on long-distance rail transport, the VAT amount is reflected in different VAT rates:

  • at a 0 percent VAT rate in relation to the ticket and reserved seat components which comprise the ticket cost for the journey or the transportation of luggage;
  • at a VAT rate 20 percent on additional fees and services (including the use of bedding and meals).
