Moscow Railway serves the Russian capital and Moscow, Tula, Orel, Kursk, Ryazan, Smolensk, Kaluga and Bryansk Oblasts and a part of Vladimir Oblast.

Moscow Railway is managed from Moscow. Eleven lines converge on the Moscow rail hub and are connected by the 54km Small Ring and the 558km Large Circumference Ring.

Moscow Railway carries a huge amount of commuter traffic, with an electric train departing every 4-6 minutes during peak times.
