Our training programmes focus on:
- fundamentals of environmental safety;
- environmental safety of operating assets;
- environmental safety in handling of class I–IV hazardous wastes.
All of the Company’s environmental staff receive career development training at industry-specific colleges and universities, the Research and Production Centre for Environmental Protection (a Russian Railways subsidiary), and the Russian Railways Corporate University. The Company also provides additional environmental training for its staff, addressing such matters as reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and introduction of an environmental management system. Seeking to enhance environmental awareness among its employees, the Company distributes environmental posters, leaflets, and brochures.
Russian Railways offers environmental training to more than 3,000 people annually.
