Armenia

Concession Agreement
Date: February 13, 2008
Parties: Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Armenia, JSC Russian Railways, and South Caucasus Railway
All concession contract obligations are fully executed

As part of the concession, the following repairs were undertaken

Acquired
500 km of railway track 700 freight cars 150 gondola cars 27 passenger cars 22 locomotives

In 2021:

It was agreed in principle with Armenia’s competent ministries to carry out joint work to expand state support measures for passenger and freight traffic at CJSC South Caucasus Railways, as well as to continue work on the agreement for updating the Concession Agreement.


Mongolia

JSC Russian Railways exercises trust management of a 50% stake of JSC Ulaanbaatar Railway (UBTZ) owned by the Russian Federation.

Modernization of railway infrastructure in Mongolia contributes to social and economic development of the country and implementation of the Russia – Mongolia – China Economic corridor program.

Special focus is placed on increasing Ulaanbaatar Railway operation efficiency. In 2023, Mongolia broke records in the field of freight traffic (32.4 mln tonnes).
