Transport of Parcels
JSC Federal Passenger Company provides parcel transportation services in the company’s passenger trains within the Russian Federation. This service is available to individuals and legal entities.
Parcels accepted for carriage must weigh no more than 10 kg and measure no more than 150 cm in total length (length + width + height).
For shipments between Moscow and St. Petersburg, cargo weighing up to 30 kg and measuring up to 180 cm in total length (length + width + height) are accepted at Leningradsky Railway Station in Moscow and the Moskovsky Railway Station in St. Petersburg.
The transport of parcels does not require an escort. Cargo luggage can be dispatched/received at designated drop-off/pick-up points.
Detailed information on destinations, delivery times, costs and opening hours of pick-up/drop-off points can also be obtained from the pick-up/drop-off points.
TRANSPORT UNDER SPECIAL CONDITIONS
If the properties or condition of the cargo luggage or the conditions of carriage proposed by the passenger or consignor are not covered by the Conditions of Carriage, the relevant contracts between the carriers and the passengers or consignors may stipulate special conditions of carriage for such luggage or cargo, as well as the liability of the parties for their carriage and safekeeping.
Carriage of cargo luggage under special conditions may be performed by the carrier in the following cases:
- if there is a lack of technical specifications and standards for the rail carriage of items and things presented for carriage as cargo luggage;
- if it is necessary to carry as cargo luggage items and things that are not covered by the Conditions of Carriage for such transportation;
- when the transport of cargo luggage does not comply with the requirements of standards or technical specifications, or when new types of packaging and packing are used;
- when the weight and dimensions of the cargo submitted do not comply with the standards stipulated in the Conditions of Carriage.
If the passenger or consignor requires special conditions of carriage, he or she must send a written request for such carriage and the conclusion of the relevant contract at least 20 days in advance via the e-mail address delo@fpc.ru. The following information must be stated in the application: the names of the departure and destination stations, the name of the luggage or cargo luggage to be sent, its dimensions and approximate weight, the type of packaging, the condition of the luggage or cargo luggage, and special requirements for carriage.
