Dear passengers! The High-Speed Communications Directorate at Russian Railways, the Federal Passenger Company and suburban passenger companies operate "Lastochka" trains. For the latest information on timetables and fares, click here.
"Lastochka" trains numbered 700-750 are high-speed, Lastochka trains numbered 800 are express. More about train categories.
In the case of "Lastochka" trains, which are operated by the Directorate of High-Speed Communication, boarding is carried out in carriages Nos. 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10. Those who are not passengers can enter the carriage to help with the luggage of the disabled, the elderly and passenger with children.
From 1 June 2024, the Finland Station will have a separate boarding passage from the side of Botkinskaya Street through the Express hall for passengers travelling on long-distance trains on the St. Petersburg – Sortavala – Helyulya route – No. 821/822 and No. 823/824, and on the St. Petersburg – Petrozavodsk route No. 160. Passengers arriving at the Finland Station on these trains will exit through the gate on the Platform 1. Tickets for long-distance trains will be sold at long-distance ticket offices next to the Express hall on the side of Botkinskaya Street. This new passage for passengers is being introduced to reduce the load on the station infrastructure due to an increase in suburban passenger traffic following the closure of the Udelnaya metro station for major repairs.

JSC Russian Railways maintains a policy of affordable ticket prices for a wide range of social groups, which applies to fares on the company’s branded trains.
For example, to purchase tickets at a lower price, passengers of Lastochka trains operated by the DOSS carrier may use the following options:
- public tariffs;
- specialty tariffs (valid if passengers meet a number of special requirements: age limits, purchasing a return ticket, etc.);
- travel cards and electronic cards;
- group tariffs (for passengers travelling in groups).
Discounts on public and specialty tariffs apply to the final ticket price (exclusive of service fees and commissions).
If a passenger fails to meet the requirements that apply to the purchased ticket tariff, s/he must pay the remainder of the full tariff generated by the Dynamic Tariff Control and Demand Stimulation (DUTISS) system (if any) when boarding the train.
The special tariffs "Junior", "Senior" and "School" are available to citizens of the Russian Federation.
Passengers may select the public and specialty tariff options when purchasing tickets after filling out their personal details.
ATTENTION! When booking tickets for international services between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia on Lastochka trains operated by the Directorate of High-Speed Services, discounts and promotions are not provided to individual passengers.
The final ticket price is displayed at the verification stage when personal details have been completed.

The price of tickets for Lastochka long-distance trains operated by DOSS carrier (the High-Speed Traffic Directorate, a business unit of JSC Russian Railways) is determined depending on the passenger train category.
For Lastochka high-speed trains (700 series):
- ticket prices are determined on the basis of market conditions (with no government regulation);
- ticket prices are either fixed or determined by the Dynamic Tariff Control and Demand Stimulation (DUTISS) system depending on the time remaining until departure, as well as the actual and estimated passenger demand for any given train. For tickets regulated by DUTISS, minimum ticket prices are available if the ticket is purchased well in advance.
For Lastochka express trains (800 series):
- the maximum ticket price does not exceed the cost calculated on the basis of flexible tariff control schedule approved in the relevant order of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS Russia);
- ticket prices below the base rate approved by an FAS Russia order are considered promotion prices;
- ticket prices are either fixed or determined by the DUTISS system.
Tickets for all Lastochka trains operated by DOSS carrier are available 90 days before departure. The ticket availability period may be changed if the train schedule needs any adjustment.
You may visit the DOSS ticketing offices in Moscow and St. Petersburg to find out the price of a previously issued ticket for Lastochka trains based on the date and time of departure, as well as to receive a statement of confirmation for the previously issued tickets. This information is provided in the presence of the passenger in whose name the ticket was issued, provided that such passenger can produce a valid original identification document. The price of this service is 350 RUB.
The road map is an opportunity to save money when buying a ticket. Use the road map when buying a ticket to purchase your ticket at a reduced price (service and commission fees are always charged at full price).

Group ticketing procedure (for DOSS trains)
Booking travel for an organised group of passengers (OGP) on the following trains is possible after the conclusion of an agreement for the provision of services for booking tickets for the carriage of passengers and the assignment of a single personal account (the payer’s SPA): high-speed Sapsan trains (Moscow – St. Petersburg), "Lastochka" trains (operated by Russian Railways – Pskov – Veliky Novgorod – Petrozavodsk, St. Petersburg – Pskov – Pechory, St. Petersburg – Sortavala, Rostov-on-Don – Novorossiysk, Moscow – Ivanovo, Moscow – Kostroma, Anapa – Krasnodar, Imeretinsky Resort – Maykop – Kavkazskaya and Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod – Kirov, St. Petersburg – Bologoe – Staraya Russa/Valdai) and the Ruskeala Express retrotrain (Sortavala – Ruskeala Mountain Park).
The application is the basis for starting work to organise the transport of an organised group of passengers (OGP). A travel company shall independently prepare an application (the form is provided in the Sample Documents section) and send it to the personal manager at the High-Speed Transportation Directorate of JSC Russian Railways.
There is a single application form for all organisations. Application forms are completed for a single OGP of ten or more persons travelling on the same route, on the same train and on the same departure date. The application form shall be certified by the head of the travel company and the finance manager, and shall be drawn up on the organisation’s letterhead. The application form must include the first and last name and contact telephone number of the travel agent directly responsible for organising the journey.
Requests are accepted from 90 to 10 days before departure. Requests submitted less than 10 days before departure are accepted subject to availability. Each application must be accompanied by two copies of the passenger list, certified by the head of the travel company and the finance manager.
The OGP list must include the details of the group (or tour) leader on a separate line. The group (tour) leader must not change during the ticketing process. The OGP list must comply with the prescribed form (enclosed in the Sample Documents section) and contain up-to-date details.
Once you have submitted your application, you will be assigned a personal manager, who will check that the travel details you have provided are correct and up to date, and that the required number of seats is available on the service. You will receive an invoice within two business days after the application has been processed. The invoice amount depends on the class of travel you have selected and contains the amount required to reserve the seats and issue the travel documents. After the invoice has been paid and confirmation that the funds have been credited to the account of the High-Speed Transportation Directorate has been received, the seats will be reserved as requested. Reservations must be made at the ticket office of the High-Speed Transportation Directorate in the presence of a representative of the travel company.
The representative of the travel company must present:
- power of attorney form M-2 for the right to issue travel documents upon request (dated and with an outgoing number), including passport details, the representative’s signature and company seal;
- a payment order (with a bank stamp);
- original of the application form (in one copy);
- the passenger list (in duplicate).
If the representative of the travel company fails to appear within the prescribed timeframe to process the travel documents, the application will be cancelled. The reservation fee is non-refundable.
The travel company can make changes to the OGP lists and submit the final version to the ticket office after the seats have been reserved and before the date on which the representative is due to collect them.
Contacts details of the High-Speed Transportation Directorate:
E-mail: OGP@center.rzd.ru
To collect the tickets, a representative of the travel company must go to the ticket office of the High-Speed Transportation Directorate by the established deadline.
The employee of the travel company must present:
- power of attorney form M-2 for the right to issue travel documents upon request (dated and with an outgoing number), including passport details, the representative’s signature and company seal;
- a receipt confirming the payment of various fees;
- a reservation order (supporting document);
- a payment order;
- the original of the updated passenger list (in duplicate);
- up-to-date certificates from the respective educational institution (regarding the travel of an organised group of schoolchildren).
Once the ticketing process has been completed, the representative of the travel company will be issued with the travel documents (tickets) and one copy of the OGP list stamped by the High-Speed Transportation Directorate (and signed by the ticket office manager).
The cost of OGP travel is determined after the relevant application has been submitted.
Fees set by the Federal Tariff Service of the Russian Federation for organised groups of passengers in 2025:
- Adults – RUB 537.10;
- Schoolchildren – RUB 134.30;
- Children – RUB 134.30.
