JSC Russian Railways and international transport organizations

JSC Russian Railways takes part in the activities of more than 10 international governmental and non-governmental organizations, providing the systematic promotion of comprehensive initiatives on various aspects of railway transport (Council for Rail Transport of the Commonwealth Member States, OSJD, Eurasian Economic Commission, UN (UN ESCAP, ITC UNECE), OTIF, CCTT, BRICS Business Council, SCO, Business Twenty and others).

Within the framework of the Council for Railway Transport of the Commonwealth Member States, we coordinate various issues on operation of railway transport, including operation and maintenance of freight cars and containers, locomotive facilities, conditions for transportation of passengers and goods, digitalization, train traffic safety and cooperation in the areas of science and technology. On the basis of the BRICS Business Council, we are actively working within the Subgroup on Transport and Logistics to coordinate issues of rail transport development, as well as cooperation with transport and logistics, rail, sea, air and stevedoring companies in the association countries.

OJSC Russian Railways takes part in the activities of specialised international governmental and non-governmental organisations and interstate associations, thereby ensuring the systematic promotion of comprehensive initiatives on various aspects of rail transport.

Our key goals:

    • Enhancing and harmonizing legislature related to the development of railway traffic;
    • Coordinating railway transport activities on the intergovernmental level;
    • Coordinating interactions between transport market players;
    • Launching multilateral economic cooperation projects;
    • Within the "1520 Space" – coordinating all main issues related to CIS railway operation, including joint use and technical maintenance of freight cars and containers and locomotives, as well as passenger and cargo transportation conditions, digitalization, train traffic safety, cooperation in the fields of science and technology, etc.
