Far Eastern Railway
Far Eastern Railway operates 6,871 km of track and is run from its headquarters in Khabarovsk.
Its line passes through Primorye and Khabarovsk Territories, the Amur and Jewish Autonomous Oblasts, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and Sakhalin oblast.
Far Eastern Railway is a major player in shipping goods for export and import since it benefitrs greatly from the extremely favorable conditions Russia’s Far East region offers for domestic and international transport. These consist of direct rail access to the major sea ports on the Pacific coast: Vanino, Nakhodka, Nakhodka-Vostochnaya, Vladivostok, Posiet, as well as the two land border crossings at Grodekovo – Suifenhe and Khasan – Tumangan.
The border crossing at Grodekovo – Suifenhe station in Primorsky Krai is also of major importance for mutually beneficial cooperation between Russian and Chinese railways.
