Mr. Pegov was born on 22 May 1973.

 

In 1992, he graduated from the Leningrad Electromechanical College with a degree in Maintenance, Repair and Operation of Traction Rolling Stock. In 1997, he graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Railway Transport with a degree in Locomotives (electric locomotives and electric trains). In 2013, he graduated from the Higher School of Economics with a degree in Jurisprudence.

 

He began his professional career in the railway sector in 1994 as an assistant electric train driver at a locomotive depot. He later served as an electric train driver and a driver-instructor of locomotive crews (in high-speed traffic) before being appointed Deputy Head of the St. Petersburg – Moskovskoye Multiple-Unit Train Depot of the Oktyabrskaya Railway (a branch of JSC Russian Railways). In 2004, Mr. Pegov became Head of the depot.

 

In June 2009, Mr. Pegov was appointed Head of the Northwest Directorate of High-Speed Transportation, a structural unit of the High-Speed Transportation Directorate (a branch of JSC Russian Railways).

 

In February 2010, he became Head of the High-Speed Transportation Directorate (a branch of JSC Russian Railways) and supervised the launch of the country’s first high-speed trains (Sapsan, Allegro and Lastochka), as well as the development of high-speed services within the Russian Railways network.

 

2014-2017 – Head of Moscow Metro State Unitary Enterprise.

 

23 May 2017 – Appointed Director of Passenger Services, JSC Russian Railways.

 

December 2018 – Appointed Deputy Managing Director of JSC Russian Railways.

 

In August 2023, he was appointed Deputy Managing Director of Russian Railways and Head of the Traction Directorate.
