Russian Railways’ network transports 114.9 million passengers in June 2025
According to the latest figures, 114.9 million passengers departed from the stations and terminals owned by Russian Railways in June 2025, which is 0.5% higher than the figure for the same month last year. Suburban passenger numbers increased 0.5% to 102.5 million, while long-distance passengers also increased by 0.5%, rising to 12.4 million in traffic.
Passenger turnover in June 2025 amounted to 14.3 billion passenger-km, which is 1.4% less than the figure for the same month last year. Suburban passenger turnover increased by 1.3% and amounted to 3.3 billion passenger-km, while long-distance passenger turnover fell by 2.2% to 11 billion passenger-km.
In the first half of 2025, the Company transported a total of 626.9 million passengers, up 2.6% compared to the same six-month period in 2024. Suburban passengers totalled 567.8 million, an increase of 2.8%, while long-distance passenger numbers were up to 0.8% and totalled 59.1 million.
Passenger turnover on the Russian Railways’ network since the beginning of 2025 has grown by 1.7% compared to the previous year and amounted to 64.7 billion passenger-km. Suburban passenger turnover rose 3.2% to 17.2 billion passenger-km, while long-distance passenger turnover increased by 1.2%, to 47.5 billion passenger-km.
