A passenger terminal as part of the Cherkizovo transport hub, one of ten railway stations in Moscow.
The new Moscow railway station, which opened on 29 May 2021, is primarily designed to service passing trains travelling in transit through Moscow. In addition, individual trains depart for the East from this station.
The Vostochny railway station is located on the site of the former Cherkizovsky market next to the Lokomotiv football stadium (RZD Arena), which are all in the Cherkizovo district in the east of Moscow.
The total area of the station complex is 9,600 square metres, including a passenger terminal (4,200 square metres) and two new passenger platforms (5,400 square metres) – one island between the lines and one side platform.
