Station address
Working mode: 24/7
Construction of Kiyevsky railway station building began in 1914 and was completed in 1917. The building was designed by the engineer Ivan Rerberg.
The station itself took several years to finish, being completed in 1920, following the Russian Revolution.
The new station embodied the continuity between antiquity and the new era, which, according to Shukhov and Rerberg’s contemporaries, would be the century of the "New Renaissance."
The building was not typical of the architecture of Moscow at the beginning of the 20th century, when Art Nouveau was all the rage. Kiyevsky railway station is a monument of architecture and engineering art.
Kiyevsky railway station is a cultural heritage site of federal significance. Vladimir Shukhov’s train shed is a masterpiece of engineering design.
